Rebecca Buchan

Founder & CEO

Becky has demonstrated a unique ability to blend vision and strategy with more than 25 years of experience in destination resort and second-home real estate development. Dedicated to creating innovative and sustainable development models, she combines an extensive management background with broad design talent and bottom-line thinking to unlock land asset values and deliver investor returns. She is a formidable leader who promotes long-term and transparent partnerships.
After years of working with iconic hospitality and design firms, Rebecca founded Denton House Design Studio in 1996. For the past decade, Denton House and Discovery Land Company have operated Discovery Design, where Becky has overseen operations including planning, design, and architecture for Discovery communities. Most recently, Becky was COO of Discovery Land Company, overseeing strategic acquisitions while leading all aspects of community planning, design, development, and startup operations.
Becky's portfolio of high-profile projects has been widely recognized throughout the hospitality and luxury residential real estate industry. Her extensive experience in strategic community placemaking and use of "experience engineering" to promote new marketing and selling resort real estate is sought after by owners and fellow developers alike.
Joey Crop

Joey Buchan

Founder & President

Joey is known as our fearless leader here at Denton House Design Studio. Along with his wife, Becky Buchan, our founder and principal at Denton House, he built and continues to manage and grow the company and its many large scale projects around the world. Joey brings to the table an immense knowledge and capability to run a large design company.

He is also known to bring a smile to his employees around the office with his kind nature. When he isn’t working, and traveling around the world handling a million project details, he enjoys spending time with his beautiful children and grandchildren.


Tom Hogan


Tom is a career financial officer who brings more than 25 years of experience in leading global finance and operations teams for significant hospitality and luxury residential developments. Tom's expertise provides strategic and operational leadership that balances vision and planning with hands-on excellence in execution.

Tom began his luxury hospitality and development career with Marriott International, Inc., spending ten years in a variety of finance roles, mainly under the Ritz-Carlton brand. During his time at Ritz-Carlton, Tom led strategic initiatives ranging from the development and launch of new brand extensions to consulting with individual properties in repositioning them to become relevant and profitable in the marketplace. During his time in Marriott's Global Treasury Department, Tom was the primary relationship manager for 30 revolver banks and led Marriott's global cash operations through the global financial crisis of 2007-2008.

Other key positions include CFO of Discovery Land Company; CFO of Augusta National, Inc.; and CFO of Talisker Mountain, Inc. At Augusta National, Tom implemented a new capital planning and execution process that completed the most extensive capital plan in company history. He also launched a multi-year improvement project for the supply-chain process with the first phase set to yield more than $1 million in annual profit improvements.


Dave Rasmussen

VP of Architecture

Dave joined Denton House in 2016, where his primary role has been leading design and architecture efforts of luxury residential development projects. His responsibilities include client development and retention, oversight of the architecture for major projects, and negotiation of design contracts. He brings energy, determination, and dedication to every project. Prior to joining the firm, Dave specialized in commercial, civic, and hospitality projects while at GSBS Architects in Salt Lake City, as well as other design studios in the region. He has designed and managed numerous projects over his twenty-plus year career, combining project management expertise with the ability to lead teams while maximizing project revenues. During his time at Denton House, Dave has overseen the design and community development of multiple luxury destination, most notably Chileno Bay Club in Los Cabos, Mexico and Gozzer Ranch in Harrison, Idaho.

Dave received a BS in Architectural Studies from the University of Utah, where he went on to receive a Masters of Architecture degree.


John Garver

VP of Architecture

John comes to Denton House with 24 years of architectural design and project management experience in resort and hospitality projects. He has been involved with projects in the destination resort communities of Telluride, Lake Tahoe, Yellowstone, and Park City. Recently he has been working on projects in Hawaii and Montana. He is passionate about site-specific and environmentally sensitive design and incorporates sustainable elements when appropriate.

John received a bachelor's degree in Environmental Design with an emphasis in architecture from Arizona State University and also holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He is LEED AP and certified CDT. John's smile and kind nature make him a welcome colleague, and clients appreciate his sincere desire to deliver the best.

Kristofor L. Kvarfordt

VP of Planning + Landscape Architecture

A highly skilled landscape architect and land planner, Kris has accumulated over 20 years of experience working across various projects throughout the U.S. and international markets. His experience includes large scale master planning for resort communities, trail, and open space master planning, campus master planning, and detailed site design and construction management for commercial and institutional projects.

Kris is recognized for his ability to work collaboratively with civil engineers and other project specialists to create fully integrated plans into all components of a project. His expertise is in developing site solutions focusing on green infrastructure, innovative stormwater collection, water sensitivity, treatment, and re-use solutions. He is directly responsible for management and construction observation for several rainwater har-vesting and low-impact development projects.

Kris has been consistently recognized and awarded by the American Society of Landscape Architects and has been an adjunct professor at Utah State University over the past 15 years.


Natalie Ellis

VP of Design

Natalie has always had a passion and curiosity for design. From a young age, she could be found on job sites, marveling at the construction process. She was fascinated to see firsthand how a project relies on many skilled craftsmen to be fully realized. Armed with the desire to be an integral part of this process, she graduated magna cum laude from Utah State University (CIDA accredited) with a Bachelors Degree in Interior Design and a minor in Art.

Natalie later ventured to London and Paris to study design and Architecture, expanding her view of global trends and art forms. Natalie began her career in NYC, spending many years under the tutelage of renowned designer Jamie Drake. Equipped with the guidance of industry design leaders, she has lent her abilities to many award-winning projects.

Following her time in New York, Natalie made the move to Utah, where she has enjoyed designing and overseeing global boutique resort communities and custom residences. With nearly 20 years of design experience, she finds inspiration in the unexpected, genuinely embodying a passion for the innovative process. Natalie takes pride in carefully crafting the ideal spaces for her clients and the unique opportunity each undertaking provides her to create with equal parts joy and expertise.


Matt Dickamore

VP of Design

Matt brings projects to life with his visionary approach to telling the story of a property. His ultimate pursuit is to create spaces that leave guests with an unforgettable sense of having witnessed something special. He continually pushes the limits of his designs and is known for his loyalty among his team. Matt emphasizes collaboration above all else and demonstrates that no task is too small when a project's success is concerned. He is attentive to the smallest detail and extends his high expectations for precision to all who work alongside him.

A member of the Denton House Design Studio team since 2006, Matt is a standard-bearer who sets a high bar for excellence. He studied interior design at Utah State University (CIDA accredited) and pursued an education in the history of furniture and architecture at the University College of North Hampton in England. Matt delves deep into any project's technical details, in part thanks to his training in fabrication, manufacturing, materials, and specifications.

Matt attends trade shows, visits vendors, turns up at fabricators, and shops showrooms routinely to keep the current design and construction industry trends. With nearly 20 years of industry experience, Matt draws on a comprehensive knowledge of what works for styling and staging, with an eye for combining function with a sense of wonder. He has the singular ability to zoom into the critical details that define a space, whether as technical as custom specifications or as effervescent as atmosphere and scent. In Matt's spare time, he enjoys being with his wife and their beautiful daughter.

Jared Proctor

Project Manager

Known for his work ethic and straightforward management of staff and contractors, Jared has been a pivotal member of the Denton House team for over ten years. His career has spanned work atop mountains and beachside, and for the last five years, he has overseen design and construction at the exclusive El Dorado Golf & Beach Club in Los Cabos. He manages the design and construction administration for all aspects of the Club, including two restaurants, concierge areas, and fitness centers. Jared has overseen construction on five custom houses, with build costs ranging from $10-13 million and values ranging from $20 -50 million. He is also responsible for a luxurious 12-unit multi-family community with units ranging from 4,500 to 7,500 square feet.

Jared holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Studies from University of Utah, and a Master’s Degree in Architecture from the New School of Architecture and Design in San Diego. Prior to focusing on Baja Peninsula work, Jared managed several high-end projects in Park City, Utah at the Canyons Resort. Jared’s leadership and systematic approach have earned him several accolades and repeat business from our discerning clientele. He is beloved by his team for his ability to mentor and teach, and trusted as a dependable resource for contractors, architects, and engineers.

Colin Olson

Director of Planning + Landscape Architecture

Colin is a team-oriented collaborator and intuitive designer who has experience ranging from city-wide visioning plans to private club residences. His expertise spans disciplines and capabilities. He has successfully contributed to various overseas projects in the Philippines, Peru, Brazil, Portugal, and Mexico and various domestic developments in Utah, Wyoming, and across the U.S.

Colin's educational background in landscape architecture and urban planning influences Colin's design ethos and drives his passion for implementing user-friendly solutions influenced by natural elements while limiting environmental impact. Having worked primarily in multi-disciplinary environments, Colin exhibits keen expertise in planning, enforcing guidelines, and gaining approvals.


Huey Hewitson

VP of Human Resources

Curtis “Huey” Hewitson joined Denton House Design Studio in January 2017. Mr. Hewitson has over 25 years of experience in human resource management. Before joining Denton House, Huey was the Vice President of Human Resource for AMEDICA Corporation which manufactured medical-grade silicon nitride spinal implants. Huey was also the Pacific Northwest Area Director of Human Resource for Sunriver Resort and Destination Hotels & Resorts, with responsibilities for six hotels and resorts in Oregon and Washington.

He also was the Human Resource Director at the world-famous Bandon Dunes Golf Resort while in Oregon. Mr. Hewitson has been an Officer and Vice President of Human Resources with a public company that was a high-tech manufacturing organization and has worked in the medical and dental industries. Mr. Hewitson holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Utah in Organizational Communications with an emphasis in Human Resource Management.

Amy Winn

VP of Marketing

Amy Winn brings over 25 years of marketing and leadership experience. She lends her expertise in managing a diverse array of marketing and communication strategies for the firm. Additionally, Amy oversees the development of programs and services that promote diversity within the organization.

Most recently Amy served as director of marketing at GreenBox Art + Culture, where she helped lead all aspects of brand management, marketing initiatives, and sales strategies. Other notable leadership roles were in product development, artist relationships, strategic procurement & Asia sourcing. She was responsible for launching both B2B and B2C e-commerce sites. Before joining GreenBox and Denton House, Amy held multi-store leadership positions at top retail outlets, including Warner Brothers Studios, where she oversaw recruiting, training, and policy writing for the west coast.

Amy has her BS of Marketing from the University of Utah and splits her time between San Diego and Salt Lake City. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and spin class, attending sports events (Go Padres!), and, as of late, binging on Netflix with her kids.

Michelle Murray


After graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles with her Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies and a minor in Urban Planning, Michelle achieved her Masters of Architecture at the University of California, Los Angeles. She began her career in hospitality and restaurant design in Los Angeles, making her way back to Las Vegas in 2017. Her breadth of experience includes commercial, retail, residential, hospitality, restaurant, multi-family, resort, vacation home and spa design and project management. Between her conceptual design abilities, her skill in managing her team, and an intimate understanding of building and zoning code compliance, Michelle takes projects from conception through construction administration with ease. Michelle is a licensed architect in both California and Nevada, with NCARB Certification. She had become an integral part of our Las Vegas team, and a true leader, bringing her empathetic problem-solving skills to the job site and the boardroom alike.

Kim Bevan

Design Director New York

Kimberly is known for her personal and intuitive approach bringing timeless design and clever spacial solutions to each project. A lover of color and texture, she does not shy away from bold and colorful interiors that bring spaces to life! She is a firm believer that each project should be a reflection of the client and the environment. Instead of infusing a specific style, Kimberly enjoys bringing her client's vision to life. She considers a successful project one that authentically reflects a client's style, their passions, their travels, and their personal history.

Incorporating local and sustainable options is a big emphasis for Kimberly. Her goal when designing is to create spaces for people that spark joy, promote well-being, and appeal to all of the five senses. Born on the rural coast of Norfolk, England, Kimberly is naturally drawn to coastal environments. She grew up with her father in the antique and furniture business importing unique pieces from Europe and South America. From a young age she has had an appreciation for beautiful objects and the details that make a space special.

She graduated from Skidmore College (where the school moto is appropriately "Creative Thought Matters") with a Bachelors in Business Management and a Minor in Studio Art. At Skidmore she grew her love of art and architecture which lead her to graduate school at the New York School of Interior Design were she earned her Masters degree (MFA) in Interior Architecture.Over the last seven years with Denton House Design Studio she has worked on luxury resorts in destinations including the Bahamas, The Hamptons, Montana, and Upstate NY.

Las Vegas

Chris Savage

Project Manager

Chris is a masterful architectural project manager, adroit in the management of technical production and field construction administration. His career has also included crossover into oversight of landscape architecture, interior design and FF&E processes, making him one of Denton House’s most well-rounded team members. A natural relationship builder, Chris has built currency with designers, contracts, clients and consultants alike, and is able to pull disparate parties together to meet key timeline milestones.

Born and raised in the Midwest, Chris received his professional five-year Bachelor of Architecture Degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). His breadth of experience spans over 20 years, and he has honed his project management practice in work ranging from high-rise and mixed-use commercial to hospitality custom homes. Chris moves seamlessly between strategy and hands-on execution, communicating pertinent information between leadership and production-level teams. As a member of the Mies Van der Rohe Society, Chris believes that architecture has the power to create beauty, promote sustainability, and fulfil practical functions as well.

Lauren Peck

Senior Interior Designer

With deep hospitality roots in Las Vegas, Lauren believes in the power of a well-designed space to animate and capture the spirit of a brand. For over twenty years, she has designed hotels, restaurants, clubs, casinos, spas and more. She’s equal parts creative and operational, adept at defining and achieving a vision while managing the myriad details that must align to bring a project to life.

Lauren is at home in the field or the showroom, with deep experience in all phases of the design process, from programming through construction administration. Her strong relationships with architects, consultants, clients, and contractors ensure her projects are delivered on time, and on budget. She believes that collaboration is the key to unlocking the next-level concepts that continue to wow her clients.

This Jackson Hole native has a soft spot for ski towns, winter sports and the great outdoors. An avid traveler, she finds inspiration in fashion and art the world over.

Torie Muehlhausen


Torie has loved observing the city of Las Vegas grow into the great metropolis that it is today. The architecture, design and creativity of this place inspired her to purse her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interior Design and Drafting from the Art Institute of Last Vegas. She has collaborated on commercial, residential, hospitality, restaurant, and multi-family projects, in conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction administration phases of work. She switches between design and drafting effortlessly, and her attentiveness to detail ensures projects are in the best of hands. Her warmth and care for her colleagues, clients, and construction partners enable her to guide projects with patience, flexibility, and good humor.

Suzy Price

Interior Designer

Suzy’s depth and breadth of experience in the Las Vegas hospitality world serves her well in all matters of programming, process and execution. Suzy originally studied and trained as a graphic designer, and pursued higher education in Interior Architecture to round out her exceptional skillset. She has the rare ability to both effortlessly conceptualize and beautifully present her ideas and strategies to clients.

Suzy thrives in a collaborative environment, and constantly bounces ideas off architects, subconsultants, engineers, contractors and vendors. Suzy’s work ethic is contagious, and she routinely inspires those around her to go the extra mile.

A stickler for the details, Suzy is also a trusted colleague and has won the confidence of client after client through her proactive approach to communications. She is constantly learning and challenging her own design sensibilities through exploration of literature, film, fashion and art.

Office Manager & Design Coordinator

Deep experience in the design industry, from fabric showrooms to design firms, imbues Roxana with the unique ability to problem-solve from multiple perspectives. As the office manager and design coordinator for the Las Vegas team, she manages many initiatives, including FF&E projects and installations. Her astute organization and ability to pivot ensures jobs progress on schedule. Collaboration is her hallmark, and she is an expert in connecting the dots and connecting the right people in bringing our projects to fruition.
